about me

I’m a creator at heart and the universe is my canvas. I adore trying new mediums and learning new skills and techniques for anything and everything I can use my hands to do. As a child, I drew a lot. Then I began writing short stories and eventually learned to sew. But I was too bored trying to perfect any one skill. I wanted to do it all, not master it all.

When my family started, I diverted to a career in corporate accounting. Talk about a switch! It didn’t fill my cup, but I learned many things from my experiences. It took 25 years, but I decided to refocus on my first love of creation. Now I can use my business acumen in different ways, and I enjoy learning different aspects of business to combine with my various other skills.

I try as many things as possible. I create whatever I can. Life is about learning and I learn every time I create something new. I want to share it with the world.

I was born and raised in Louisiana in the heart of Cajun Country. I am proud of my French heritage, which is why I chose the French spelling of fig as my namesake.

It started with my love of figs, the glorious colors, the flavor itself, the multitude of seeds, and the way they pop up all over the South mid-summer. I find these aspects represent own interests: abundant, prolific and sweet.

Figs have inspired humanity, culture and religion for thousands of years. Their trees and fruit are symbolic of many things, but essentially, they inspire us to share our creative energy and desires, which is what Figue Studios does for me.
